A Journey into Colour 15 July

An introduction to colour theory, mixing and story. 10am - 4pm

  • 95 British pounds
  • The Croft, Carwynnen

Course Description

Create your own reference colour wheel. Learn about pigments and colour in art through history and its global connections. Explore exercises to illustrate the effects colour combinations have on a 2D surface. Practise mixing a limited pallete inspired by your own visual interests. Gain insights into Sians journey into growing and processing pigment from plants. Throughout the day you will take colour inspiration from the surrounding natural environment, creating a colour dictionary describing your time at The Croft alongside your colour theory personal development. This will form the basis of an ongoing reference library you can refer to as you continue on your own journeys through colour. You will receive a free SOOA hardboard sketchbook, which much of the work and exercises you do will use, creating a lasting journal of your day with space to continue your colour journey in, developing your pigment practice into the future. All refreshments and a homemade vegetarian lunch included.
